In the early part of 1994, God gave Gary and Marilyn Williamson a vision about opening a soup kitchen. That vision became a reality November 1, 1994.

The Main Street Mission, Inc. (MSMI) has been the only facility feeding the hungry in Pope, Yell, Johnson, Conway, Perry and Logan counties of Arkansas. We are one of the prime locations that provide food boxes at no charge to people unable to care for themselves because of financial problems.

Our food boxes provide a week’s worth of groceries.  In 2018 we provided 2,461 food boxes which helped 18, 399 adults and 12,008 children. We also provided clothing to 3,103 people, and furniture and appliances to 59 families and prepared 23,529 meals.

Our facilities consist of 4.7 acres of land. A 3300 square-foot office building, 19,600 square-foot warehouse and a 2500 square-foot new kitchen. We receive donations of clothing, furniture, and appliances for distribution to persons in financial need at no charge to them. We offer hope, friendship, encouragement, and Christian love to the hungry, homeless, and poor.

We receive large gifts of all types of meat from Con-Agra Brand Foods, Tyson Foods, Inc  and other organizations and churchs and distribute it, not only to the hungry in the River Valley, but also to other non-profit organizations in Arkansas at no charge.

We operate  primarily on donations from individuals, churches, businesses and organizations.  We do receive grants from United Way, Arkansas Community Foundation, Entergy, ConAgra, and Tyson.
