It’s officially the holiday season and time to kick-off off the annual Main Street Mission Christmas Wish program! Christmas Wish is a program in which the entire community can become involved in making many local children’s Christmas experience a happier one. This program is a great way to share God’s love with the children/families that you are helping, but it can also become a holiday tradition of giving inside your own family.

We began accepting letters seeking gifts for children in Pope/Yell counties under the age of 18 in October and the letters will continue to be accepted through the postmark date of. Applications can be picked up at the Mission office or kitchen. The applicants will be contacted for an interview to verify income requirements and need for assistance before the letters will be published.

An effort will be made to coordinate with other agencies providing Christmas gifts to avoid duplication and to make sure the most number of children can be served. If we find that a family has already registered with another Christmas program, we will remove that family from Christmas Wish. Also, any letters that request items that are unreasonable in price (Playstation 3 System, Wii System, etc.) will be removed from our program.

Letters should be mailed to:

Christmas Wish
1110 E. 2nd St.
Russellville, AR 72801

We cannot accept hand-delivered letters. Letters MUST be mailed!

People who wish to grant one of these family’s Christmas Wishes may call . Calling hours 8:00am to 5:0pm. The recommended minimum spending limit is $50 per child. Donations are also being accepted at Main Street Mission or checks can be mailed to the address listed above.

As most of you know, The Main Street Mission suffered a terrible loss last month when we lost our Founder and Director, Gary Williamson. Gary battled illness for months, but is finally at peace and in perfect health worshipping his Savior. The River Valley lost a great man, but we will not lose his dream, vision or legacy. The Main Street Mission will go on under Marilyn’s direction, just as she and Gary had planned, and we will continue to feed and minister to all those who need help. Gary loved everyone who walked through the Mission’s doors and everyone loved him.

We will all miss Gary very much, but at least we are comforted to know that one day soon we will see him again. How thrilled he will be when finds that others have come to Christ because we have continued the work that he and Marilyn started almost 16 years ago. Now, more than ever, we need to be touching the lives of those in need and showing them the love of Christ just as Gary and Marilyn have strived to do for the past several years.

The Main Street Mission is here for the entire community but has to be supported by the community as well. Please prayerfully consider financially supporting the Mission. A small monthly donation can have a huge impact for a family in need.

God bless you!
Pam Duvall, Public Relations
